Transforming Our Collections
Our collections have been transformed, aligning with our mission to provide products that are not only luxurious but also consciously crafted:
- FSC/PEFC-certified Viscose
We’re increasing the use of FSC- and PEFC-certified viscose in our backcloths to support responsible forest management and a more sustainable supply chain. These certifications ensure materials are sourced from responsibly managed forests that protect biodiversity and support local communities.
Our commitment to these environmentally preferred materials is showcased in our collections, like our iconic Ultraleather, which includes FSC/PEFC-certified rayon.
- Recycled Polyester Meets FSC/PEFC-certified Viscose
In collections such as Brisa, Promessa, and Coast, we now feature FSC/PEFC certified rayon with recycled polyester in the backcloth. This innovative approach delivers products with less impact without compromising the high-quality standards Ultrafabrics is known for.
- Each yard of fabric with this backcloth repurposes approximately 8.3 plastic bottles, preventing them from polluting our precious waters.
- The wood inputs used to produce FSC/PEFC certified rayon fibers are sourced from certified and controlled sources that meet strict sustainability requirements to ensure ancient and endangered forests are protected.
- Biobased and Beyond
Introduced in 2019, Volar Bio reflects Ultrafabrics' commitment to sustainability with a 66% mix of environmentally preferred content, including recycled polyester, FSC/PEFC-certified viscose, and Susterra® biobased resin.
Certified by the USDA BioPreferred program, Volar Bio contains 29% biobased inputs derived from renewable resources.
In 2023, we began sourcing Susterra® resin, made from U.S.-grown corn under the Truterra program, which supports improved soil health and reduced greenhouse gas emissions across 1.5 million acres.Volar Bio exemplifies our dedication to high-performance, eco-conscious design with measurable supply chain impact.
