We recognize that achieving true sustainability may require technical and material solutions that do not yet exist, and we share our journey in the spirit of authentic transparency. Circular Material Innovation

The introduction of Ultraleather® | Volar Bio, the first Ultrafabric to include renewable plant-based materials, signifies a new direction for high-performance fabrics and is just the beginning of our dedicated journey towards a greener future. We have set targets to:

  • Include biobased and/or recycled materials into 50% of new product introductions by 2025
  • Increase to 100% by 2030, with existing collections evaluated along the way

Long term Objectives:

  • Create our products from rapidly renewable materials, reducing our dependence on finite resources
  • Replace virgin materials with recycled materials
  • Create our products from materials that can be safely recycled and/or are biodegradable

Material Conservation and Recovery

Moving to a more circular textile system requires cooperation between manufacturers, consumers, and suppliers. We strive to eliminate every waste stream possible and divert any unavoidable waste or end-of-life materials in our manufacturing to a second life use.

  • Divert or eliminate 100% of manufacturing and inventory waste

Water Conservation and Recovery

We recognize that “water footprints” are a key issue throughout the textile sector. We aim to protect water resources through efficient manufacturing processes and appropriate treatment.

Long term Objectives:

  • Reduce water demands in our manufacturing process while retaining product quality
  • Reclaim and reuse water where possible to reduce demand and wastewater

Energy Conservation & Climate Impact

Every business must act in order to responsibly steward our energy resources and mitigate climate impact - and we recognize that manufacturing activities are one of the most significant sources of GHG emissions in our economy. We are investigating cleaner energy sourcing and opportunities to increase energy efficiency, and we minimize emissions from transportation by using primarily sea freight and ground transport. We have set targets to:
