Mottainai - Waste Not, Want Not

Ultrafabrics is committed to having a positive economic, social, and environmental impact in the communities in which we operate. Through continual engagement and strengthening of local community relationships we ensure our success and our communities’ success are one in the same.  This includes charitable contributions and our material donation program, Mottainai.

Inspired by the Japanese concept of finding the intrinsic value in unwanted materials, we proudly donate our materials diverting them from the landfill, extending their life cycle and supporting the creative vision of local artisans. Since 2018 we have donated over 30,000 yards to a variety of charitable organizations.

Stitching Hearts Worldwide provides materials to make essential items for those who suffer from natural disasters, human injustices, and unforeseen tragedies. Using our materials, they made 600 backpacks for Ukrainian women and children, booties for children in Africa, and footballs for refugee children around the world.

Unshattered is a NY-based non-profit organization whose mission is to end addiction relapse for women by providing them a pathway toward economic independence and sustained sobriety. They use our donated materials to create some of the handbags and accessories that they sell.

LuvLola was founded in 2021 by Ravon Clark and named after her daughter Lola, who inspired her to revisit her creative and artistic side by expressing it through bagmaking. LuvLola is a one woman show based in Houston, Texas, and we are proud to support her through donated materials.
